Our Team

The companies behind the homes

Hearthmont leads each project as its nonprofit sponsor. Three companies work alongside us to find the land, build the homes, and care for them for years to come.

Development, construction and management

One team, from first plan to front door

Landmark Peak Development

Developer

Every new neighborhood starts with a piece of land and a plan. Landmark Peak Development finds sites where new homes make sense, works with towns and villages through planning and approvals, and puts together the financing that makes each project possible.

What they do:

  • Find and secure sites across the Hudson Valley
  • Lead design, zoning and approvals
  • Arrange financing and stand behind each project’s completion

Steel Ledge Construction

General contractor

Good homes are built to last. Steel Ledge Construction turns approved plans into finished buildings, managing the trades, schedule and budget so families and seniors can move in on time to homes that are safe, accessible and energy efficient.

What they do:

  • Build each project from groundbreaking to move-in
  • Hire and coordinate local trades and suppliers
  • Hold quality, safety and accessibility to a high standard

Charter Key Property Management

Property manager

A home is more than a building. Charter Key Property Management takes care of residents and properties every day after opening: welcoming new neighbors, keeping buildings in good repair, and making sure every home stays affordable for the people it was built for.

What they do:

  • Fair, welcoming leasing and income certification
  • Responsive maintenance and building care
  • Long-term affordability compliance and resident support
How we work together

Clear roles, open dealings

Hearthmont Housing Development Corporation is the nonprofit sponsor of each project and keeps a controlling role in every partnership. Landmark Peak Development, Steel Ledge Construction and Charter Key Property Management are separate, privately owned companies that provide development, construction and management services under written agreements.

These companies are affiliated with Hearthmont co-founder Moishy Fekete. Hearthmont’s conflict-of-interest policy requires any arrangement with an affiliated company to be disclosed and approved by the board’s independent directors, and disclosed to housing agencies and lenders as their rules require. The companies are being formed now.
